Jascha Horenstein is a Ukrainian Leader , born the May 6th 1898 with Kiev and dead the April 2nd 1973 with London

Biography

Its family, with her Austrian mother , goes to Vienna since 1911 when he studies with Franz Schreker and Joseph Marx. Then it Berlin in order to will become to the assistant of Wilhelm Furtwängler. In the year 1920, it is invited to direct the Symphony orchestra of Vienna like Philharmonic orchestra of Berlin. It is named with the head of the Opera of Dusseldorf in 1928.

With the advent of the Nazis, it is exiled with the the United States in 1940 and directs the largest American phalanges.

Repertory

Horenstein defended the contemporary repertory, with in particular the first of arrangement for cords in three movements of the lyric Suite of Alban Berg or the first Frenchwoman of its opera Wozzeck (in 1950). It was also illustrated in the symphonies of Anton Bruckner (in particular symphonies 1 and 3) and Gustav Mahler which it directed since 1922. It also engraved a beautiful version of the symphony Mathis the painter of Paul Hindemith with the Symphony orchestra of London.
