Jarno Trulli (born the July 13rd 1974 with Pescara, in the the Abruzzi, Italy), is a racing driver Italy N which takes part in the championship of the world of Formule 1 since 1997. It disputes the season 2007 within the stable Japan ease Toyota at the sides of Ralf Schumacher.
At the end of only seven races, it is recruited in a way surprised by the stable Prost Grand Prix to replace Olivier Panis, inalienable following its accident with GP of Canada. Trulli, always supported by Briatore, takes down the wheel after being left victorious a comparative test vis-a-vis the French Emmanuel Collard, to which the place seemed promised. Immediately, Trulli rises with a performance level worthy of that of its predecessor while being qualified in third line of GP of France, and by finishing fourth of GP of Germany after a muscular duel with Jacques Villeneuve. But the continuation is more delicate for Jarno, which taking into account its weak experiment, seems to pain to fully fulfill its role of leader of the French stable. Whereas its interim touches at its end and that its future darkens, it signs a performance of very first choice at the time of GP of Austria: qualified in third position, it takes the head of the race as of the second round and mêne the debates with authority until the semi-race and the breathlessness then the rupture of its engine Mugen Honda. Even if the return of Panic grass obliges it to yield its wheel as of the following GP, the service of the Italian is sufficiently convincing to enable him to be full-time volunteer by Prost Grand Prix as from the season 1998.
But season 1998 of Prost Grand Prix turns quickly to the disaster. Prost-Peugeot proves as not very reliable as powerful and Jarno only manages to register one point (under the flood in Belgium). It is comforted by noting that in term of performance, it gradually takes the ascending one on Olivier Panis. In 1999, the situation hardly improves and it should only with one tactical great hit take down the first podium of its career, at the time of the Grand Prix of Europe.
The against-performances of Prost-Peugeot do not prevent Trulli from building a solid reputation in the bed. For the seasons 2000 and 2001, it is thus recruited by the stable Jordan (which left a beautiful season 1999). Often shining under tests (where again, it dominates gradually its fellow-member, this time the famous pilot German Heinz-Harald Frentzen), it does not manage unfortunately to concretize in race because of irregular performances. If this distortion of the performances of Trulli between the qualifications and the race is generally ascribable with its mounting, some wonder all the same about the responsibility for the pilot.
Always under contract of management with Flavio Briatore, Trulli signs in 2002 at Renault, the stable whose Briatore is the sport director. Again very powerful in the exercise of the qualifications (where it dominates its young team-member Jenson Button), it shines less in race, which continues to feed the debate on its style of piloting. In 2003, while Renault do not cease progressing in the hierarchy, one associates to him a new team-member, the great Spanish hope Fernando Alonso. Put initially under the extinguisher, Trulli seems to manage to reverse the vapor at the end of the season. A tendency which is confirmed in first half of season 2004, during which Trulli does better than good match with its fellow-member and fights with the best. This good period reaches its culminating point at the time of GP of Monaco, that Trulli dominates from one end to another, which is worth to him to gain its first victory Formulates 1 of them. But after some new places of honor, mechanics is stopped starting from the GP of France, which it finishes fourth after being made bate the third place by Rubens Barrichello with a few hectometers of the arrival. This mishap, which occurs at one time when Trulli negotiates with other stables and is on the point of leaving the bosom of Flavio Briatore, is worth to him critical sharp on behalf of its employer. Contrasting with her remarkable first half of season, its second part of championship then will prove rather catastrophic since he does not register any more the least point and carries out several insipid races. The reasons of this sudden fall of form remain still mysterious. Trulli will openly show its stable to support Alonso, but it would undoubtedly be too easy to exempt the Italian pilot of any responsibility, so much this last had already shown in the past its irregularity. The deterioration of the relationship between Trulli and Renault leads to its dismissal at the conclusion of the GP of Italy (during which it had been shown very slow on the first two thirds of the race, losing any hope to register points, before inexplicably finding all its competitiveness in end of the road). Replaced by the former world champion Jacques Villeneuve, Trulli is not long in finding a wheel since after a GP of inactivity, it is called by Toyota (team with which it has just signed a contract for the future seasons) to dispute the two last sleeves of the season.
Full-time volunteer by Toyota starting from the season 2005, Trulli carries out a beginning of the season in brass band again since it takes down several podiums and points even a time with the general surprise in the third place of the championship of the world. But to the wire of the season, its performances go decrescendo, while the shift between its services in qualifications (in Indianapolis, it takes down the first pole of the history of Toyota in F1) and in race remakes its appearance in a shouting way. He finishes even the championship with less points than his fellow-member Ralf Schumacher, however less brilliance that him.
Always at Toyota in 2006, it undergoes the fall of form of the Japanese stable and manages only seldom to highlight itself.
