Jarmila Kratochvílová

Jarmila Kratochvílová , born the January 26th 1951 with Golčův Jeníkov, is a Czech Athlète

This athlete arrives tardily in the world of the athletics and was continued all his career by wounds and diseases. She obtains a money medal at the time of the Olympic Games of summer of 1980 of Moscow behind the German of the east Marita Koch.

She is especially the holder of the oldest world records of the female athletics, with the world records of the 800 m which date from the July 26th 1983. This record, establishes with Munich, is almost due randomly: in order to avoid a wound before the first Championships of the world of athletics 1983, it is aligned at a distance longer and thus slower than its distance from predilection, the 400 Mr.

This record then convinces it to double the two distances at the time of the championships: it gains the 800 m easily, then gains its 2nd gold medal by beating the world records over 400 m, becoming the first woman to be gone down under 48 seconds. This record will be beaten thereafter by its large rival on the distance of the 400 m Marita Koch in 1985.

This doubled does nothing but relieve a little its more disappointment: not been able particper with the Olympic Games of summer of 1984 due to Boycott.

After its career, finished in 1987, it became trainer.
