Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines (Code AITA: JL ; Code ICAO: JAL ) is the national Airline company Japan ease (known in Japanese under the initials JAL - in romaji and katakana - according to: “JAL グループ”). Complete name: 日本航空 Nihon Kōkū , initials JAL ). It belongs to the group Japan Airlines Corporation , which bears this name since 2004, which also includes/understands the 8 other following companies: Japan Asia Airways, JALways, J-Air, Harlequin Air, Hokkaido Air System, JAL Express train, Japan Air To commutate and Japan Transocean Air. Divided a long time into two principal groups, Japan Airlines International , based on the International airport of Narita and Japan Airlines Domestic which operates on the International airport of Tōkyō-Haneda.

Among other distinctions, JAL has the largest fleet of Boeing 747 in the world (approximately 80 in 2004) and is the only Asian company to have for destination Mexico City.

Since October 2005, JAL belongs to alliance Oneworld, while preserving its agreements of Partage of code in particular with Air France.

Its chairman is, since June 28th, 2006, Haruka Nishimatsu.

Its recent bringing together (completed on April 1st 2004) with interior company JAS (Japan Air System) had less success than discounted, which undoubtedly pushed it to join Oneworld whereas it was one of rare the large companies to remain apart from any total alliance.
