Janis Martin is a singer of Rock “roll and of Country music American, born on March 27th 1940 with Sutherlin, Virginia. It is one of the rare women interpreters of Rockabilly. She died of a cancer the September 3rd 2007.

Biography

It could play and sing towards the five years age. At six years, it controlled the cords on its guitar junior and sang in a style influenced by Eddy Arnold and Hank Williams. She played and sang on the WDVA Barndance out of Virginia by the age 11 years.

She will ernregistra its first disc at 15 years. She was an enormous success with the song " My Boy Elvis" , one of the first homages to Elvis.

She was elected the promising female artist of 1956 with the annual convention of the “DJ”. Then, it formed its own band called " The Variations ".

It was presented, still teenager, like The Female Elvis (“the female Elvis Presley”) with the authorization of Elvis himself.

In 1996, Rosie Flora made it redécouvrir.

At the beginning of 2007, his/her son died.
