Janick Gers
Janick Robert Gers is one of the guitarists of the group of heavy metal Iron Maiden, born the January 27th 1957 with Hartlepool (England).
He was previously guitarist of the group White Spirit of 1975 with 1981 before joining in June Gillan, the group formed by the former singer of Deep Purple, Ian Gillan, until December 1982. After these experiments in group, he played for various artists like Fish of Marillion then for Bruce Dickinson, the singer of Iron Maiden, which recorded its album solo " Tattooed Millionaire " . It is at this time, in 1990, that it was proposed to him to join celebrates it group, which had just recorded the defection of Adrian Smith, where it always plays.
Its solos are fast and energetic, its stage business higher than that of Adrian Smith, but it is also a good type-setter. Its play is influenced by Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple.
Janick Gers has this characteristic to launch its guitar in the airs at the end in its concerts, its play is very theatrical, and provides an infinite energy on scene.
For the little story, Janick Gers was also member of the group Gogmagog, with Clive Burr and Paul Di' Anno… two former members of Iron Maiden.
