Janez Janša
Ivan Janša known as Janez Janša is a Slovenien politician born with Ljubljana in federative Republic of Slovenia the September 17th 1958. It is since 1995 the chief of the Slovenien Democratic party ( Slovenska demokratska stranka ) or SDS.
In 1989, Janša is one of the founders of the SDZ ( Slovenska demokratična zveza or Slovenien democratic Union), first opposition party in the federative Republic of Slovenia still attached to the Yugoslavia. After the victory of the election platform DEMONSTRATIONS with the first free elections of the federative Republic of Slovenia in 1990, Janša is named at the very sensitive post of Minister for defense.
Sensitive station because it must manage the war of independence of Slovenia and centralizing inclinations of the Yugoslavia, the territorial claims of the Italian neofascists, then with the capacity on the Istrie and the frontier tensions with the new Republic of Croatia.
The SDZ disaggregates in 1992 (the majority of the members will join the Liberalna demokracija Slovenije) and Janša becomes member of the social democrat party Socialdemokratska stranka Slovenije (founded in 1988) of Jože Pucnik. Janša remains at its post of minister of defense until in 1994.
In March 1994, the security services of the ministry for defense tabassent in full street a former collaborator of Janša. This last, already very weakened politically by several businesses, must resign. It becomes after its ousting chair SDS.
In 2003, the SDS changes its name into Slovenien democratic party. The October 3rd 2004 the SDS gains the legislative elections with 29 deputies out of the 90 whom account the Državni zbor and precedes the left liberal-democrat (LDS) the outgoing Prime Minister Anton Rop.
