Farrel and Avery shared a mutual appreciation for groups like Joy Division or The Velvet Underground and started to play together. Later, the sister of Eric presented the duet to Stephen Perkins with which it left at the time. Perkins then suggested engaging his/her friend Dave Navarro (with which they played in the Dizastre group) as guitarist. The group named then " Jane' S Addiction" in homage to Jane Bainter, joint tenant of Perry Farrel and toxico notorious.

Beginnings

The formation quickly became a feeling in the scene underground of Los Angeles, much of recording companies were quickly interested by the group which signed finally at Warner Bros. However the group insisted to leave its first album on an independent label. The album live " Jane' S Addiction" leaves in 1987 at Triple X records.
