Janakpur
Janakpur , 75.000 inhabitants is a city of the Nepal located in the district of Dhanusha, in the south of the Terai. Janakpur is 200 km in the south-east of Katmandou, and to 22 km of the border between the India and Nepal.
The city is known as being the center of the old culture Maithili, which has its own language and its own writing. Janakpur is the birthplace of Sita Devi, so called Janaki, which is the heroin of Ramayana.
Janakpur is an important place of Pèlerinage Hindou.
The center of the city is dominated by impressive the Janaki Mandir, which is a Temple built in 1911. The Maithili language is always spoken in the city and in the neighborhoods, like in the Indian state of the Bihar.
