Jana Tichá

Jana Tichá (born in 1965) is a Czech Astronome. She discovered a big number of planetoids.

Since 1992, it is director of the astronomical Observatory and the planetarium with České Budějovice. Under its direction, the programme of observation of planetoids and comets were modernized. Within the framework of the project directed by Tichá, a new telescope, intended for the follow-up of asteroids close to the Earth and other planetoids and comets with strange trajectories, was installed with the Observatoire Klet.

In 2000, Jana Tichá was the Czech first to become member of Committee one Small Body Nomenclature IAU, commission on the nomenclature of the planetoids and comets of the international astronomical Union, and since 2003, it chairs the commission.
