Jan van Ruysbroeck (religious)

Jan van Ruysbroeck (1294-1381) was a Flemish Mystique.

Born with Ruisbroek close to Brussels, it was a long time vicar of the Holy-Gudule church in Brussels, then Prieur of a monastery of Chanoine S regular with Groenendaal.

Its works, inspired by the doctrines of saint Denys Aréopagite, are written in Thiois and were published in Latin by Surius (Cologne, 1552), and was reprinted in 1609 and 1692.
