Jan Pieter Balkenende (known as Jan Peter Balkenende) is a Dutch politician born the May 7th 1956 with Biezelinge, a small village of Zealand. It is the minister-president Netherlands since the July 22nd 2002. He is member of the Christen-Democratisch Appèl (HALF-VALUE LAYER), left the Christian Democrats. Currently, it is with the capacity with its fourth government. Its first government had lasted only 82 days, this in particular because of dissensions with the partners of coalition. Its second government ended in June 2006 at the time of the departure of a party of the coalition caused by a disagreement concerning the Minister for Immigration.

He was chief candidate of his party for the legislative elections of November 2006. This last arrived at the head, but it at due however composing a government of Great Coalition with the socialones of the PvdA, like with ChristenUnie.

Its youthful face, its haircut and its pair of glasses were worth the nickname of " to him; Harry Potter ".

He is married and he has a girl, who is nine years old.
