Jan Koller

Jan Koller is a Football Czech or born the March 30th 1973 with Prague and which evolves/moves at the station of attacker.

Biography

Its beginnings

It began its career with the Smetanova Lhota then left to Milevsko, before signing with the Sparta Prague. There, it gained the championship there as well as the cut of Czech Republic.

It flies away thereafter in Belgium, with Lokeren, in 1996. The seasons that it passed in the Belgian club were very noticed. At the time of the season 1998-1999, it mark 24 goals, which makes of him the best striker of the championship. The club of Brussels of Anderlecht recruits it the following year and, with this club, Jan Koller will gain two championships of Belgium. It also takes its first steps in Ligue of the Champions.

International recognition

At the beginning of marketing year 2001/02, it signs with the Borussia Dortmund, in Germany, and reached the final of the Coupe of the UEFA that the German club loses vis-a-vis the Feyenoord Rotterdam. It is with Dortmund that Jan Koller is truly made know general public, in particular by its big size (2,02 m) and its play of great quality. It in addition becomes one of the attackers most feared in Europe. It integrates the national team of Czech Republic in 1999 and becomes gradually one of the leaders of the selection. It takes part in the Czech European adventure with the Euro 2000 and the Euro 2004 and becomes the best Czech striker of the history in selection with more than 35 registered goals. It thus exceeds legendary the Antonin Puc which had marked 34 goals between 1926 and 1938.

Wounds and end of a career

In September 2005 it is wounded seriously and does not play almost any more with the Borussia Dortmund. However, it is in the Czech group for the World cup 2006 in Germany but these performances are also good only before. It signs with the ACE Monaco for the season 2006-2007. At 34 years, it is surely the last big challenge of its career.
