Jan Davidszoon de Heem

Jan Davidszoon (often C-W communication Davidsz ) of Heem is a Dutch painter of nature died, born in 1606 with Utrecht and died in 1684 in Antwerp.

Its first works are in the style Balthasar van der Ast (1593/94-1657), its Master. He works then with Leyde and shows a style close to the fabrics of Pieter Claesz (1595/97-1661) and of Willem Claesz. Heda (1594-1680). In 1636, it settles in Antwerp and becomes citizen of the city in 1637.

He is the father of the painter Cornelis de Heem (1631-1695).
