James Rennell
The major James Rennell (1742-1830), was a British geographer.
Born in the Devonshire, it was used a long time for the the Indies like Engineer, and returned in England about 1782.
It published important work on the Géographie, was named member of the Royal Society and was associated Institut of France. One owes him:
- of the charts of India,
- a Explanation of the geographical system of Hérodote , 1800, where it proves the fidelity of this historian;
- of the Observations on the topography of the plain of Troy , 1814.
- of the Memories on the Geography of Africa, 1790-98.
He helped Mungo Park to write his Voyages
