James Nachtwey
James Nachtwey (1948 -) is a American Photographe .
He is regarded as one of largest the photographers of war of our time, as well by the amateurs as his pars.
He furrows the sphere since nearly 20 years and covered almost all the conflicts, Afghanistan and Bosnia-Herzégovine, Rwanda and El Salvador, Northern Ireland and Kurdistan, Somalia and South Africa…
Biography
He was born in 1948 in the Massachusetts, in the United States. He studies the history of art and political sciences with the Dartmouth College, one of the most prestigious universities of the United States, then he decides for photography.After several employment, he will be assistant of a writer of current events at NBC with New York, then in 1976, he becomes local photographer with the New Mexico. It is in 1980 qu ' it goes back to New York and becomes independent photographer.
In 1981, it leaves to cover the tensions of Northern Ireland, in particular with Belfast, which will be the springboard of its international career.
From 1986 to 2001, he is member of the Coopérative photographic Magnum, which he leaves to create the Agence VII.
