James Mill was a historian, economist and Scottish philosopher , born the April 6th 1773 with Northwarer Bridge (parish of Logiepert, Forfarshire), dead the June 23rd 1836 with Kensington.

He is the father of John Stuart Mill (1806-1873), him also philosopher and economist.

In the field of philosophy, it was very influenced by David Hume, of the sensualists and the associationists, of which it perpetuated and developed the ideas.

In the field of morals and political economy, its intellectual guide was Jeremy Bentham.
