James Lipton

James Lipton (born the September 19th 1926 with Strait, in the Michigan) is a writer and poet.

The father of James Lipton was poet and one of the leaders of the literary and philosophical movement of the Beat generation. His/her mother was professor and worked in a library. The small James Lipton thus was likely to be high in a literary universe. He had learned how besides to read as of age the two years and at three years, he wrote poems; teenager it had already written three news, always not-published. He followed studies of right which he financed while being journalist then actor in Midwest and in New York. It is in Big Apple, that during twelve years, it developed an intense passion for the cinema, television and the theater. He works in particular with the direction of children: Stella Adler, 2 1/2 years; Harold Clurman, 4 years; Robert Lewis, 2 years; dance with Hanya Holm, Alvine Nikolais (modern dance); Ella Daganova, Benjamin Harkarvy (traditional ballet); elocution with Mrs. Eva Gauthier and Arthur Lessac; television and production in the New York University School off the Arts, and in New School.

He is member with life and vice-president of the Actors Studio, and he belongs to his steering committee.

He created with other members of Actors Studio, Paul Newman, Ellen Burstyn, Norman Mailer, Carlin Glynn, Lee Grant, Arthur PEN, and Robert Wankel, Actors Studio Drama School in New School University, which became the most famous university of the United States.

In 1994, it creates one following its course of actor, and the emission Inside the Actor' S studio, with the success which makes it famous. This emission is inspired by Culture medium of Bernard Pivot. The emission is diffused on Bravo Network with 20:00, received by 78  000  000 hearths, diffused in 125 countries, more than 200 actors, scenario writers and realizers followed one another. July 14th, 2005, it received two nominations for the categories Outstanding Nonfiction Special and Outstanding Nonfiction Series. On the whole the emission received 11 nominations in Emmy, the price CableAce Award like Best Talk Show, and the New York Festival Award as The World' S Best Talk/Entertainment Program which compares 16  000 television programs.

May 4th, 2004, James Lipton received Founders Medal of New School University of New York. A distinction offered only thirteen times in 84 year of history.

James Lipton is member of Authors' League, of Dramatists' Guild, ASCAP, AFTRA, SAG, and he is member with life of Writers' Guild off America. He was member of the Academy National off Television Arts and Sciences, and a Governor of New York NATAS Chapter, and he is member of the ATAS.

James Lipton lives New York with his Kedakai wife, who is vice-president of Corcoran Real Estate Group, and a designer which collaborated in An Exaltation off Larks. He also took part in horse competitions. In 1995, it represented the United States of America with the Grand Prix of the Challenge of the Champions. It has also a diploma of aviation (member of the international counsel of associations of owners and pilots of aircraft).

It presents since 1999 an emission in which it interviews stars of the cinema: Inside the Actors Studio diffused in France on Paris Première.
