James Hargreaves , born in 1720 and dead the April 22nd 1778, was Tisserand and a Charpentier of the Lancashire in England. It is mainly known to have invented the Spinning Jenny in 1764, a spinning machine.

It is with Richard Arkwright one of the principal personalities of the Industrial revolution British. He lived with Blackburn, then small town of 5.000 inhabitants specialized in the Textile.
