James Gift

James Donn is a British Botaniste , born in 1758 with Monivaird in the Perthshire and dead the June 14th 1813 with Cambridge.

He works in the royal Botanical gardens of Kew under the direction of William Aiton (1731-1793) before being the conservative of the Botanical garden of Cambridge of 1794 with 1813. He is associated with the Société linnéenne of London in 1795 before becoming member in about it 1812. He makes appear Hortus Cantabrigiensis in 1796 (sixth edition in 1811).
