James Blake

James Riley Blake is an American tennis player born Friday December 28th 1979 in Yonkers in the State from New York. It is coaché by its trainer Brian Barker since it has 12 years. The 10 titles into simple that it gained in its career it were on same surface (hard).

Biography

The junior by Blake has a Petri speech of humanism. Perhaps because it grew with Arthur Ashe for model. Its season 2004 begins in Australia, where it reaches the fourth turn of Open of Australia for the second consecutive year (beaten by the winner Marat Safin). In March, it rises in quarters with Scottsdale (losing vis-a-vis the future winner Vince Spadea) and continues its season with one 1/4 of finale in Masters Series of Indian Wells (where it loses vis-a-vis Labadze). Comes then the season on beaten ground during which it gains the test in doubles of the tournament of San Jose (with Mardy Fish) and it is qualified for the quarterfinals of the tournament of Houston (in doubles, it gains the tournament with his friend Mardy Fish). At the time of the Masters Series of Rome, it is inclined with the first tower vis-a-vis Jiri Novak and fractures then a cervical vertebra at a training session in May in Rome, accident that it will move away it from the courts for two months. In summer 2004, it contracts a Zona, a disease affecting hearing, the sight and causing the temporary paralysis of part of the face. In July, his/her father dies of a cancer. He turns over nevertheless on the circuit to Newport, test where he loses with the second round. In August, following its defeat with the first turn at the time of the tournament of Washington, the disease opposing it to make the dead end on its preferred tournament: the US Open. It will try once again to return, this time at Delray Beach in September, where it was inclined with the second turn. Thus finishes its season 2004.

In 2005, the American will carry out one of his best seasons on circuit ATP, gaining 2 tournaments over hard and finishing for the first time of his career in Signal 25. He also shone in Large Slam, in particular with a quarterfinal to US Open. Relegated to the 210e place of the classification in April, it starts to obtain regular results in summer, at the time of its return to Washington, where it reaches the final and is inclined vis-a-vis Andy Roddick. Three weeks later, it confirms its good state of form by gaining its second title ATP in New Haven (leaf Feliciano Lopez). But its dash is not close being broken: of return in its favorite tournament, it creates the surprise by beating the world number two Rafael Nadal with the third turn, the head of series #20 Tommy Robredo with the fourth, before inclining with the tiebreak 5th set of a match which will remain in annals, vis-a-vis the Andre Agassi after having led two sets to nothing. It then took part in the Coupe Davis in Belgium (it was inclined vis-a-vis Olivier Rochus at the time of the match of opening). In December 2005, James suffers from a stretching of a ligament to the foot.

2006, dedication

Season 2006 of James begins with Adélaïde where unfortunately, it loses with the first turn. But it is caught up with the following week by gaining the tournament of Sydney by beating the Russian Igor Andreev finally. In March 2006, James Blake gains the tournament of Las Vegas by beating Australian the Hewitt 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 to gain the fifth tournament of his career, the second in 2006, and especially to sign his first victory vis-a-vis a player against whom it had never gained during their six preceding confrontations. Thanks to this performance, James rises in the 14th world place, the best classification of his career. The following week, with Indian Wells, James rises finally, beating on its passage Tommy Robredo, Tommy Haas, Igor Andreev and Rafael Nadal. It indeed beat Ivan Ljubičić finally of the tournament of Bangkok in two handles 6-3 and 6-1. Thanks to this success, James gains its fourth tournament of the year and remains more than ever in race to dispute Masters (its main adversary, Márcos Baghdatís, being wounded). The following week, it gains for the second consecutive time the tournament of Stockholm (its 5th title in 2006), test of circuit ATP equipped with 635.000 euros, by beating finally the Finn Jarkko Nieminen 6-4, 6-2 in 55 minutes.

As a dedication for this marvellous year 2006, James is the last player to take down his ticket for the Masters of Shanghai. At the time of its first hen match vis-a-vis Rafael Nadal, James asserts 6-4 and 7-6 (7/0) vis-a-vis the number two world. He connects then with a victory vis-a-vis Nikolaï Davydenko over the score of 2-6, 6-4 and 7-5. The victory of Nadal over Robredo opens the doors of the semi-finals to him. It however remained to him to dispute its last hen match vis-a-vis Tommy Robredo against which it was inclined in 3 sets. James thus faces David Nalbandian in semi-final and qualifies himself for the final by beating Argentinian the 6-4, 6-1. At the time of his re-entry on the circuit, James finally preserves his title at Sydney by beating the Spaniard Carlos Moya (6-3, 5-7, 6-1) after a little more than two hours of a haletant match. The American empoche thus the 9th title of its career. It connects then with the Open of Australia where it is inclined in eighth of finale against the Chilean one and future finalist of the test, Fernando Gonzalez.
