Jamahiriyya
Jamâhîriyya (Arab جماهيرية), “ State of the masses ”, literally “ the thing of the masses ” ( jamâhîr , pl. of jumhûr , " the public") in Arab modern, is a policy set up by the government of Mouammar Kadhafi in Libya the March 2nd 1977 and according to the installation of a Direct democracy. One finds the word in the official name of the Libya.
The government of Libya declares that Libya is a direct democracy without political parties, controlled by its population through local councils. The term “jamahiriya” was created because at the time this system was obviously single. In spite of that, the majority of the countries of Europe and North America regard this country as a military dictatorship under the control of colonel Kadhafi.
