Jakez Riou (Lothey, 1899 - Chateaubriant, 1937), Breton author

He died prematurely in Châteaubriant in 1937, in the full demonstration of his talent. This writer of Breton Language with the stripped style, very with incisive and delicate turn, left us news, plays and some poems. He was journalist with the Courrier of Finistere.

He met Youenn Drezen and while undertaking literary, scientific and religious studies, they discovered the magic of their Breton language and at the same time the possibility of purifying forms of them to make a true literary language of it. He takes part in 1925, at the beginning of the review Gwalarn, carried out by Roparz Hemon and Mordrel.
