Jacques of Fouilloux

Jacques of Fouilloux was a gentleman of the Poitou, born in 1519 with the castle of the Fouilloux close to Parthenay (Two-Sevres), died in 1580.

Large hunter, one owes him a famous book on the hunting, dedicated to Charles IX. Published for the first time at Poitiers in 1561, this work was frequently reprinted and translates. One finds there on the practices of the animals a crowd of curious observations which were collected and confirmed by the naturalists.

Of Fouilloux also a poem left on its Adolescence .
