Jacques de Flesselles , born with Paris and 1721 and shot down in Paris the July 14th 1789 is an administrator French. With the marquis de Launay, it was one of the very first victims of the French revolution.
Intendant with Mills, then with Rennes and Lyon, Jacques de Flesselles has to succeed the Furrier like Prévôt of the merchants of Paris, on April 21st 1789. May 27th, the voters of the three orders of the city ask to sit at the Town hall and to take part in the management of the city, which Jacques de Flesselles refuses like illegal, constant by the ministry of Jacques Necker. June 25th, this request is renewed and, under the public pressure, Jacques de Flesselles authorizes twelve of these voters to be joined the municipality in place. The first session of this “general meeting” takes place on July 13rd. Jacques de Flesselles is elected by it president. Under the pressure of crowd, it must accept the creation of a civic guard and announces that: 12000 rifles will arrive of Charleville to equip the troop.
July 14th, whereas the catch of the Bastille starts, the insurrectionary committee installed with the Palais Royal sends a delegate to request weapons from the Town hall. While not having found, he shows Jacques de Flesselles in complicity with the court. Invited to come to justify itself, Jacques de Flesselles leaves and is killed at once of a blow of gun. It is decapitated and its head, placed at the end of a spade, is walked in the streets.
