Jacques Rouxel

Jacques Rouxel (Cherbourg, February 26th 1931 - April 25th 2004), producer and organizer of Cartoon French, is the creator of the Shadoks and the cofounder of the studio aaa (animation audio-visual art-graph)

Raise French college of New York until 1946, it returns to the École of the High commercial studies which it leaves graduate. Its taste for the drawing develops tardily, during its military service.

From 1957, it integrates various advertizing agencies in the capacity as writer, then of chief of publicity. Since 1961, he discovers the universe of audio-visual and becomes independent producer, primarily of advertizing films.

Sensitive to the surrealism of Alfred Jarry and Anglo-Saxon shifted humor, it is in 1965 qu' it enters to the research center of the ORTF where it works on Animographe, a new prototype of machine with cartoon. It is on this occasion that he imagines schematized characters, Shadoks and Gibis who concretize themselves in several series TV (1968, 1969,1972 and 2000).

In 1973, with Marcelle Ponti and Jean-Paul Dressmaker, it founds the studio aaa (animation audio-visual art-graph).

He is the author of approximately 80 films; court-measurings and series of order to educational, institutional vocation or advertizing executive of very great quality, impressed humor and of poetry and very often marked covering joints of oeils or Shadokiens features.

It also signed between 1994 and 2000 six albums devoted to Shadoks including two cartoons.

The fourth series of the Shadoks, Shadoks and Big Blank at summer diffused on Canal+ in 2000.
