Jacques Robin

Jacques Robin , born with Nantes the August 31st 1919 and died in Paris the July 7th 2007, is a Médecin French, former intern and old assisting Hôpitaux of Paris during about fifteen years. Managing director of the laboratory Covering joint-Midy (one of the major components of current Sanofi) during fifteen years, it then was to advise of the president of Covering joint-Midy during five years and organizer of the group of ten.

He was founding member of the interdisciplinary group of Recherche (GRIT-Transverse).

The Group of ten functioned regularly of 1969 with 1976, on the basis of informal meeting, joining together personalities as various as those of Henri Atlan, Jacques Attali, Jack Baillet, Robert Buron, Joel de Rosnay, Henri Laborit, André Leroi-Gourhan, Edgar Morin, Rene Passet, Michel Rocard, Jacques Robin or Michel Serres. Their debates explored fields as wide as the Cybernétique, the information theory, the relations between Violence and Politique, the problems drained by the Economic growth, or the ratios masculine-female.

Some of them took part, since 1981, with the installation of official structures, such CESTA. If the principal question related at the origin to the contribution of the scientific knowledge in the political arena, it gradually made place with an interrogation on the place of the technoscience and its control with the market economy.

The adventure of the Group of ten, which took its source in the social storm of after May 1968, throws a new light on the problem of the engagement of the Intellectuel S and their function within the company.

In 1983, in the prolongation of the Group of ten, Jacques Robin founds the Interdisciplinary Think tank (GRI), with Henri Atlan and Jean-Pierre Dupuy. The group publishes a monthly newsletter: the Letter Science Culture of the GRI. Armand Petitjean, Ilya Prigogine, Basarab Nicolescu and well of others wrote there, on topics in bond with the social bioethics, the theory of autonomy, the division of the richnesses and the activities, the systemic one, general semantics, the crisis of psychiatry, the political systems.

In 1987, the GRI becomes the GRIT (Think tank Inter and Transdisciplinaires), while the Lettre Science Culture becomes Transversales Science Culture in [[1990]. The latter will be converted into electronic letter with the creation of the site of Transversals.

Its international implication

Jacques Robin also counts among the founding members of the ethical, political and scientific Collegium international, association who wishes to bring answers to the people of the world confronted with the new challenges of our time.

Jacques Robin is also the name of a French scenario writer, in particular realizer of film the lost Pas .
