Jacques Restout , born with Caen towards 1650 and died towards 1701, is a painter French.
Monk prémontré, Jacques Restout belongs to the famous family of the painters Restout. Wire of Marc Restout, he was the pupil of Tellier of Vernon.
He became prior of the Abbaye of Moncets, close to Rheims.
He left a rare work entitled the Reform of Painting published in 1681 by with Caen at J. Briard. He also composed a Traité harmony of the sounds , as well as a translation of the Pausanias and a translation of the Traité on the painting of Old the of Junius, remained with the state of manuscript.
