Jacques Philippe Ottavi

Giacomo Filippo (Jacques Philippe) Ottavi (1767 - 1855), is a French general.

Born with Ghisoni (Corsica), he was soldier with the Royal Corsica Infantry in 1782, second lieutenant main district in 1792, captain adjudant major in 1794, major adjudant ordering in the Armée with Italy, ceased his function in 1795.

Passed with the service cisalpin as chief of brigade, the September 8th 1796, it is promoted general adjudant in 1797 and brigadier general the December 22nd 1800. It was with Italian Division Lechi with the body of observation of the Southern Italy (1803-1805), and in November 1805 with the blockade of Venice (where it ordered a detached body of Italian hunters with horse).

In 1806, it followed Lechi Division in the occupation of the Royaume of Naples and the March 14th 1806, it made captive the sergeant marquis Rodio with his state major. Military commander of the provinces of Otranto (Lecce) and Capitanata (Foggia). Commander about Deux-Siciles, the May 20th 1808, it passed to the Neapolitan service as major general; from March in September 1810 he was general lieutenant inspector of the Neapolitan Royal Gendarmerie, under the orders of the first general inspector Claude Antoine Compère.

He was then ordering the 4th military division (Pouilles). Knight of the Crown of Iron, baron of the Kingdom of Italy and the Kingdom of Deux-Siciles (April 21st 1813). In May 1815 it returned to the French service with the rank of brigadier general Lieutenant, it took part, with the head of the Royal Régiment Louis, with the attack failed of April 18th, 1816 against the Corsican insurrectionists of Fiumorbe capitanés by Bernardin Poli. Withdrawn in 1817.
