Jacques Philippe Martin Concealments
Jacques Philippe Martin Concealments , born the June 15th 1740 with Versailles and dead the May 15th 1806 with Montrouge, is a Botaniste French specialized in Horticulture.
He was receiver with the barriers of Paris. Ruined with the French revolution by the suppression of its employment, it formed a Botanical garden in which it cultivated the foreign plants to make the trade of it, and contributed to spread the taste of the exotic flowers. It worked for the introduction in France of many exotic species. It was named member of the section of rural economy of the Academy of Science in 1795, and the Société of agriculture, and published on the various branches of this science of useful instructions. The species of its garden are described by the botanist Etienne Pierre Ventenat (1757-1808) and are illustrated by Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840) in Description of the new and little known plants, cultivated in the garden of J. - M. Concealments , published in Paris in 1799.
