Jacques Perret (1901-1992)

Biography

It carried out an adventurous life where mix life Militaire, remote forwardings, Romance Journalisme and publications of S. In 1947 leaves its greater success, the Corporal Pinned which tells with drolery its captivity in Germany but especially its escape bids. This account will be adapted to the Cinéma by Jean Renoir. In 1951 is published Bande with share (Interallied Prix) which tells its experiment in the maquis.

Jacques Perret accepted many literary prizes: the Interallied , Prince Rainier of Monaco, Thyde Monnier, Mac Orlan, of the Academy and the Town of Paris.

Born ironist, excel designer, Jacques Perret exerts his talent with virtuosity. Near to nature and its characters, it involves its readers in his distancié and readily nostalgic universe. He excels growing and anoblir the familiar objects with which he is in complicity: a knife or a pipe, patinated and breeches by faithful use and long cohabitation.

Contemporary of Marcel Aymé and Raymond Queneau, of which it approaches by its taste the Mystification, it is less black than the first and less merry than the second, while being able to claim with the same clearness.

Since May 2006, a street bears its name to Orange (Vaucluse).
