Jacques P. Dupuis
honourable the Jacques P. Dupuis , M.A.N (November 25th, 1948 in Qébec with Montreal -) is a politician Québécois and is currently Député with the National Assembly of Quebec for the Liberal party of Quebec representing the district the St. Lawrence.
Beginnings
Elected for the first time appointed at the election of 1998, Jacques Dupuis takes gallon on the benches of the opposition directed by Jean Charest. At the time of the accession to the capacity of the Liberal party in 2003, Jean Charest the met in load of the important role of Leader of the government. April 28th, 2004 in Quebec, Jacques Dupuis succeeds Master Marc Bellemare as Minister for Justice, this last having resigned because of deep divergences from point of view with the Prime Minister Jean Charest. At the time of the important cabinet reshuffle of February 22nd, 2005 in Quebec, Jean Charest calls upon Jacques Dupuis like number two of the government. He inherits then the very prestigious station of Deputy Prime Minister, of the ministry for the Public safety and the vice-presidency of the Committee of the priorities, while preserving his role of Leader of the government. Shaken by an important anger of the Québécois electorate, the future of Jean Charest to the head of the Liberal party of Quebec darkens hard at the time of spring 2005. The name of Jacques Dupuis arises then like possible successor of this last, but Dupuis crosses quickly runs to the rumors by confirming its indéfectible support to its chief and while stating not to have any ambition for the role of Prime Minister. It must manage under its reign of Minister for the Public safety of the important situations like the Fusillade with the college Dawson and the Effondrement of the viaduct of the Harmony.
Since the elections of March 2007
Of return to the capacity, but reduced to a Minority government, Jean Charest chooses to limit considerably the size of its new the Council of Ministers. After two weeks of rumors making state of a return of Jacques Dupuis to the ministry for Justice, the whole is confirmed on April 14th, 2007 in Quebec at the time of the revealing of the new cabinet, 4 years day for day after the arrival of the group of Jean Charest to the head of Quebec. Jacques Dupuis loses then the title of Deputy Prime Minister, but takes again that of Minister for Justice, while preserving the role of Minister for Public safety.
