It settles then with Paris, there abjures the Calvinisme and obtains the place of reader of the king Henri III
Having received the order to preach in front of the king with the convent of Vincennes, the success of its sermon on the love of god and the funeral oration of Ronsard of which he was the friend, convinces it to take the orders.

The authenticity of the religious convictions of the cardinal Of the Perron nevertheless was discussed. Tallemant of Réaux told in its Historiettes that one day “it made a speech in front of Henri III, to prove that there was a god, and after having done it, it offered to prove, by a very contrary speech, that there was not. ” Elsewhere, it pays: “It brought back the pox of Rome and died about it. While dying, he wanted to never say another thing, when he took the host, if not that he took it as the Apostles had taken it. It was said that he had wanted to die into cheating, as he had lived. ”
His/her brother, Jean Davy Of the Perron, was archbishop of Direction.
Poetic work
Davy the Perron inherits Ronsard and Desportes, which introduces it with the Cour, and announces Malherbe. It is located between poetry Maniériste and traditional poetry . Its images are often baroques and its style is flowered. Its poetic works are varied: poetry religious, erotic, dedications, poetry for the king, tombs and praises funeral. This diversity is explained partly by the chronology. For example, poetries of love are written before Perron does not become bishop. It would have been, indeed, astonishing that a monk writes works of this kind, because its poems had as a function to exert and show only the talent of the well-read men. Then only the more serious kinds like religious poetries will come.
