Jacques Of Lorens
Jacques Of Lorens , born with Tillières-on-Avre in 1580 and dead the May 16th 1655 is a satirical Poète French.
Lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, then of Chartres, the satirical liveliness of Jacques Of Lorens caused enmities to him which forced it to leave this city in 1613 for Châteauneuf-in-Thymerais where it occupied the load of baillif then of lieutenant-general. Bound to Rotrou, he is the author of about fifty satires (1633) to the tone less sour than that of Régnier or Boileau. He is also the author of legal works and a Discours to monseigneur the duke of Nevers on his merry return of Italy (1613).
