Jacques Nazet

Jacques Nazet (Frameries, the March 22nd 1944 - Forest, the November 26th 1996) is a Belgian historian .

He is born in Frameries in a family enracinée in the Borinage. To the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles, where it is registered by conviction, it follows the courses of Paul Bonenfant and becomes in 1965 licensié in Philosophy and Letters, Histoire group. It presented a report directed by Bonenfant on “ the chapter of Saint-Vincent de Soignies of the origins at the end of the 13th century ”.

It had many stations in various scientific companies:

  • member of the Belgian section of the International commission for the history of the Assemblies of States in 1971.
  • regular member of the Company of Sciences, Arts and the Letters of Hainaut as from 1971.
  • member of the Center of Codicologie of the royal Library of Belgium in 1975.
  • elected vice-president of the Royal Company of History and Archeology of Turned in 1976.
  • Member of the royal Commission of Toponymy and Dialectology in 1992.
