Jacques Lorcey

Jacques Lorcey is an actor, director and historian of the Théâtre French.

The actor

Born on May 6th, 1938 with Valencians (Northern - 59). The family of its father is originating in Sète since the beginning of the XVIIIè century. His/her father and his grandfather were both Saint-Cyriens officers. The family of its mother is of Breton origin since centuries. Spends the years of war 39-45 to Vannes (Morbihan - 56), where it begins on scene at 4 years like small dancer. Secondary studies in Paris (Buffon College) and Baden-Baden (Germany - Charles de Gaulle College). Academic works in Strasbourg. First Vat B (German-English), second Vat Philosophy; Certificate of Traditional General Literary Studies (Propaedeutics); Certificate of Preparatory Studies of Egyptology, mention Well (high of professor Jean Leclant) in 1958. House master (pawn) to the French college Turenne de Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany). Professor de Lettres and of History to the college of Guebwiller (Alsace).

Create in 1956 a jazz band New-Orleans which plays Baden-Baden and Freiburg (it holds the battery). Organizer of the theatrical troop of the Assistance with Lengthened (Strasbourg). Director-founder of the Young Comedy of Strasbourg (which plays Molière and Musset). Theatrical person in charge of the Group Young Strasbourg (vault of the Pizzeria). First seal in 1958 for a figuration on television German in an adaptation of the Fabien of Marcel Pagnol. Begin with the Opera from Strasbourg (appearing, chorus-singer, then soloist: Boris Godounow , Leaflet , the Girl of the Drum Major , Tales of Hoffmann , Fidelio , Three Waltz ). Several dramatic (13) on Radio operator Strasbourg. Sing and says poems on television local.

1960: 1st Certificate of merit of Comedy (unanimously - no price not having been decreed) to the Academy of Strasbourg (professor: Antoine Bourbon).
1961: 2nd Price of Diction to the academy of Strasbourg (refuses to contribute in comedy).

Receives the councils of Beatrice Bretty, Henri Rollan and Daniel Sorano. Receipt with the National Academy (Paris). Professors: Georges Chamarat and Jean Meyer; also give counterparts in the classes of Fernand Ledoux, Pierre Bertin, Robert Manuel, Jean Yonnel and Rene Simon. Member of the Company Roger Planchon. Work of other roles with Raymond Rouleau and Yves Brainville at the Theatrical Community, street Mouffetard. For exercises of pupils to the National Academy, Tartuffe in the comedy of Molière, Claudio in the Whims of Marianne plays (Musset) and Chrysale in the erudite Women (Molière), whom it carries out with Jean Meyer. In round, plays with Georges Chamarat (who also puts in scene the spectacle), Bridaine in One badine not with the love (Musset).

1963: Trainee with the French Comedy.

After the French Comedy, Jacques Lorcey must direct two arts centres in turn: in Bois Doves, then with Charenton-the-Bridge. No promise will be held, no subsidy will not be allotted to him. In 1967, it creates its own company, which will be selected three years of following the Contest of the Young Companies of Valence. Its first spectacle will be Don Juan de Molière, in homage to Jean Vilar, whom he regards as his spiritual Master in this field.

Press and political

Jacques Lorcey ensured the artistic director of the theatrical festival the traditional Meetings of Orange created by him in 2001, until his ousting by Jacques Bompard in 2007 for mysterious reasons. He estimates that a " baladin" has the same rights as the other citizens - and the same duties - but must abstain from holding up signs in the exercise of primarily apolitical activities.

Official rewards and titles: Jouvenel price, decreed by the French Academy, for its work on Marcel Achard (1977); Broquette-Gonin price, decreed by the French Academy, for its work on the French Comedy (1980); Money medal of the Town of Courbevoie, in recognition of the services rendered to the commune (1998); Medal of the Town of Orange, for its artistic contribution to the city (2000); Knight of Arts and Letters (2006).
