Jacques Livage
Jacques Livage (born on October 26th 1938, with Neuilly-sur-Seine), is a titular French chemist of the pulpit of chemistry of the matter condensed with the Collège de France, member of the Academy of Science.
Biography
In 1960, it obtained a diploma for the occupation of engineer to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of chemistry of Paris where it also obtained a doctorate of state. He was assistant then lecturer in this same school of 1960 with 1973. He is professor with the Université Pierre and Marie Curie since 1973 and professor with the college of France since 2001.
Scientific work
Jacques Livage is a pioneer in the field of the soft Chimie. He in particular developed Procédés ground-freezing making it possible to obtain inacessibles original materials by the traditional ways of the inorganic Chimie. The purpose of its work is in particular to copy the processes of biomineralisation which are natural processes making it possible to obtain materials of the glass type under particularly soft conditions compared to the traditional processes of obtaining. The industrial applications of such a chemistry are considerable.
