Jacques Languirand

Jacques Languirand (May 1st, 1931) is a radio presenter, a playwright, a writer, a TV host, an actor, a journalist, a realizer, a director, a professor and a producer Québécois. Touch-with-all, general-purpose and encyclopedic, it is known for the dramatic parts which it wrote, but especially as a radio presenter. In 2006, its emission By 4 ways , diffused on the waves of Radio-Canada, was 35 years old (a Record Guinness for the oldest radio program). This one entered in waves on September 13rd, 1971.

Biography

He works for the radio since 1949, and television since 1957.

He wrote ten plays which for English and French the majority were played. He directed his company of theater, the Company Jacques Languirand and, of 1957 to 1958, his own theater, the Ten Hour old Theater . During a few years, it occupied the position of secretary general with the Canadian Comedy, then with the Théâtre of the New-World, just like it created the Arts center of the Old man-Montreal.

He was originator of projects for Expo 67 which was held in Montreal in 1967.

During the years 1970, it scénarisé and animated the televised series Vivre its life and Vivre here now , which treated various aspects of the life according to a philosophical approach.

As an actor, he interpreted the main role of his part Gibet , in addition to secondary roles.
