Jacques Ier of Monaco

Jacques François Léonor Goyon of Matignon was born in Torigny on Vire in 1689 and is deceased in 1751. He was the son of Jacques III Goyon of Matignon, count de Torigny 1644-1725 and of Charlotte Goyon of Matignon 1657-1721. Of share its marriage, he became sovereign prince of Monaco.

It Maria the October 20th 1715 with Louise-Hippolyte of Monaco, princess heiress of Monaco 1697-1731. They had 8 children, of which:

A Norman prince at the court of Monaco

Jacques Ier reigned with dead of his wife, heiress of the throne of Monaco, in accordance with the dynastic rules of succession, but not very interested by this state, he abdicated two years later in favor of his son and preferred food with the court of Versailles and in his private mansion in Paris.
