Jacques Ibert is a Compositeur French, born with Paris the August 15th 1890 and died in Paris the February 5th 1962.

Biography

Ibert studied with the Conservatoire of Paris and gained the Prix of Rome in 1919. It composed of the operas, the ballets, of the musics for the theater, the cinema - for example the Macbeth of Orson Welles - and the radio, of light and mélodieuses works vocal or instrumental which did not forget often forsaken instruments and included continuations, a entertainment for the chamber orchestra, a Entracte for flute or violin, with harpsichord or guitar, of the Interludes for flute, violin and toothing-stone or a Concertino for saxophone . He was director of the Académie from France to Rome (Villa Médicis) of 1937 with 1940 and of 1946 with 1960. Without leaving its functions in Rome, it had on October 1st 1955 to take the load of administrator of the Réunion of the national opera houses. However, because of its fragile health, from the heaviness of the task and the attacks whose it was the object, it is withdrawn as of on April 20th 1956.

He is member of the Académie of the fine arts as from 1956.
