Jacques II of Chabannes of Palice

Jacques II of Chabannes says Jacques of Palice (or Palisse), lord of Palice, Pacy, Chauverothe, Bort-the-Count and from Héron, was born in 1470 and died the February 24th 1525.
It was useful under three kings de France and glorieusement took part in all the Guerres of Italy of its time. One finds it with the catch of Naples in 1495, with the conquest of the Duché of Milan in 1500.
It seized in 1501, several places in the the Abruzzi and the Pouilles. It was wounded and made captive by Terranova the Duc to the seat of Rouvre in 1502. Released in 1504, it took a glorious share with the battles of Agnadel and Ravenne and was seriously wounded.
In 1511, it reaches under Large Master of France.
Its value, which carried it always ahead to most extremely of the combat, made it make again captive with the Bataille of Guinegatte in 1513, but it could escape and take share with the catch of Villefranche and the battle of Marignan.
Marshal the January 2nd 1515, it took again Calais to treat peace with the envoys of the emperor. The negotiation having failed, it turned over to Italy and ordered the Body of the center of the combat of the Shack in 1522.
It was sent in 1523 to the help of Fontarabie which it could supply. It obliged the constable of Bourbon to raising the seat of Marseilles, seized Avignon and glorieusement finished its career at the unhappy day of Pavia or it ordered the avant-garde. Marshal of France, it serves François Ier and dies during the Bataille of Pavia (in 1525) which opposes it to the Italian armies.
A song sung by its soldiers after his death said: “if he had not died he would make desire”, but it was deformed in “if he had not died it ƒerait - would be - in life”; this sentence the word Lapalissade which indicates an obviousness or Tautologie left.
The first two verses of the song the death of Palice are in the key of the chansonniers (Ballard, 1725), as for the remainder (five other verses), in the manuscript 12666 B.N.
