Jacques Hustin

Jacques Hustin is a Belgian singer born with Liege the March 15th 1940. Very early interested by the musical and pictorial expression, after studies of drawing and painting, he is in turn illustrator, decorator of department store, decorator of theater and type-setter of incidental musics.

Its first appearances in public go back to its fifteen years. At twenty years, the way of Jacques Hustin appeared traced, not towards the song but rather in the field of artistic painting.

In 1965, the academician Marcel Achard gives the First Price to him to the Festival of the Song in the Town of Spa (currently “Francofolies de Spa”). He records its first album 30 cm in 1966 then unloads with Paris to learn the trade from the scene. He starts with the difficult training of the cabarets where one sings in front of dîneurs in goguette (1966-1968).

Jacques Hustin represents Belgium with the Grand Prix of the Concours Eurovision of the song in 1974 with Brighton (England) with his song Fleur of freedom .

In 1975, the Belgian Télévision opens to him a series of emissions ( the old crock ), where it accommodates his friends musicians and singers.

From 1976 to 1987, it occurs successively in Canada, in Africa, in Poland, in Germany, in Romania, in Switzerland, in France, and of course in Belgium.

Jacques Hustin was also very active for the defense of the right of the artists of Belgium where it chaired the Professional Union of the Artists of the Spectacle, working inter alia in the search of an original statute specific to the artists of varieties.

In 1988, tired to run the roads, Jacques Hustin decides to put a term at its career in the song to return definitively to painting.

During nearly ten years, it animates an artistic workshop in the Ardennes. It puts an end to this experiment in 1997 and continuous to be devoted to painting so far.

A “compact-disc” taking again 20 songs of Jacques Hustin was published in 1999.
