In its adolescence, Doucet is impassioned for poetry and painting. Between these two poles, he seeks himself. Also, in 1941, turns it to the poet and painter max Jacob to whom it returns visit to the Saint-Benoit-on-Loire. " Its judgment was all nuance some, will entrust later Doucet to his Andrée wife, but I included/understood in the complexity of his criticisms which should be sought, to be posed of the continuellement" questions;.These questions, it will thus be posed them through its painting since it is the way which it chooses. Without forsaking poetry in the titles which it will give to its tables: Poem of the autumns (gouache joining 1976), Dormition winter (oil 1974), Diluance of August (oil 1977)… and so much of others still.
To enter the universe of Doucet, it is to enter in painting, without cheating, subterfuge. The work of Doucet is offered without reserve to that which deserves it. Stuck gouache, pastel, papers, oil, it tests all, mixes all. Cruelty in a pure state with a very large direction of refinement. Of its first works of 1947 to its last, one recognizes it entire and yet it forever ceased evolving/moving.
