Jacques Dermagne

Jacques Dermagne is, since September 1999, the president of the French Economic and Social Council.

After legal studies (Paris-I) and arts persons (Academy), Jacques Dermagne enters in 1958 the world of the company to finance his studies. He engages very quickly in the professional institutional organizations.

Head of undertaking, it governs 27 years his own profession (Installation and decoration of the house). He will contribute actively for this reason to the cultural reorganization of the craft industry in certain countries, and more particularly in Tunisia, at the request of his president (1966-1973).

In 1968, it enters to the National council the commercial, is elected at the Office of this organization in 1972, becomes about it treasurer in 1976, while will be entrusted to him the General police station of Sat trade to Versailles, then in Avignon three years later.

Jacques Dermagne is elected in 1981 president of the National council the commercial, confederation gathering more than one hundred federations of Wholesale and detail, national and international. He was executive vice-president of the National council of French employers (CNPF) of 1980 to 1999.

He will leave these various presidencies the day of his election to the presidency of the Economic and Social Council in September 1999, just like he will dislocate himself of the whole of his professional mandates on this same date.

Jacques Dermagne carried out four mandatures at the Economic and Social Council, of 1984 to 2004, under the “private companies”. Since September 2004, it sits under the “qualified personalities”.

From 1989 to 1999, it chaired the section of the productive activities, research and technology. Jacques Dermagne was rapporteur, in the name of this section, in 1989, of a study of the Economic and Social Council entitled “Trade, producer of national wealths”, who influenced the sectoral policy considerably.

Elected official chair Economic and Social Council in September 1999, it was re-elected with this function on September 21st, 2004.

Jacques Dermagne was also president of the International association of the social economic councils and similar institutions (AICESIS) of June 2003 (VIIIe World congress of Algiers) in June 2005 (IXe World congress of Paris).

Apart from its course honorum , he assumed many mandates so much in the university world: directory of the ESSEC (1982-1993), CELSA, European Business School, that in the economic world: National council of the credit, commercial Accounts of the Nation, National committee of the euro, Committee close the European commission commercial and distribution.

In 1996, it published a noticed work, prefaced by Genevieve of Gaulle-Anthonioz: Revolution among owners , whereas it was in load of the mission “Citizenship of the company”.

He is also the author of the work What the Economic and Social Council? , published, in January 2006, with the Editions of the Archipelago (collection information citizen).

Jacques Dermagne is: large officer in the National order of the Merit, commander in the National order of the Legion of honor, knight in the Order of the academic Palms, officer in the agricultural Order of Merit.
