Jacques Charles Brunet , Bibliographer French, 1780 - 1867. Born with Paris on November 2nd, 1780.
Wire of bookseller, it publishes in 1802 a supplement with the bibliographical Dictionnaire of the rare books (1790) of Duclos and Cailleau. In 1810 appears the first edition of sound Manuel of the bookseller and the amateur of books (3 volumes). this work was several times reprinted and an edition was finished in 1865, in 6 volumes in-8. This work is recognized like the reference of the books of this type in the Européenne literature. He dies on November 14th 1867.

- Research on the original editions of Rabelais (1852)
- an edition of poems of J.G. Alione d' Asti, dating from the beginning of XVIe century (1836).
A supplement with the 5th edition (1860-1865) of the Manuel of the bookseller was published (1878-1880) by P. Deschamps and G. Brownish.
