Jacques Carel of Holy-Guard
Jacques Carel of Holy-Guard , French poet of the 17th century, born with Rouen, in 1620, died in 1684.
He was chaplain and adviser of the king. He published in 1666 a poem epic entitled: the Buckwheat S driven out of France, whose hero was Childebrand. It is of him that Boileau said: " liking it project of a Poëte ignoramus, Which of so much of hero will choose Childebrand! ".
