Jacques Bounin

Jacques Bounin (1908-1977) is a French politician, deputy, member of the French interior Résistance.

Engineer, Jacques Bounin becomes city council man of Nice (1935) then appointed the Alpes-Maritimes in March 1939 under the label of the Parti social French.

Under the occupation, it took share with the first organized attempts of the French interior Résistance in connection with Free France via the Suisse.

With Leon Perrier and Julitte, it organized in Nice two services of action and information: " Groussard" network; , " Eric de Genève". Jacques Bounin was one of the founders in southern zone of the National front (resistance) (1941-1942) of which he will be member of his management committee.

He was named, on May 26th, 1944, Commissaire of the Republic to Montpellier from where managed six departments: Herault, Gard, the Aude, the Eastern Pyrenees, Aveyron and Lozere. He took the initiative of the manifestations of July 14th, 1944 which were used as general repetition with the national insurrection in the area, that he organized shortly after.
