Jacques Bossis is an old runner cyclist French, born the December 22nd 1952 with Jonzac.

Amateur, it gained the race Bordeaux-Holy in 1973.

He will become professional in 1976 and until in 1985 will remain it. It will count 7 victories with its credit.

It took part in 7 Tours of France and was classified: not classified in 1977, 62e in 1978, 60e in 1979, 59e in 1980, 63e in 1981, 62e in 1983, and 102e in 1984.

It had happiness to carry the Yellow jersey in the Tour de France 1978 during the 3rd stage.

It was one of the fellow-members of Bernard Hinault, Hennie Kuiper, Jean-Rene Bernaudeau, Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle and Pascal Simon.

Anecdote

In 1976, 1 hour after having signed its first professional contract, Jacques Bossis takes part and gains its first race: the Grand Prix of Plouay.

Jacques Bossis is since it stopped running in 1985, sales engineer at Néopost-France.

Homage

Each year since 1988 is organized in the commune of Saujon in Charente-Maritime, a cyclosportive excursion of more than 150 km bearing its name: the Jacques Bossis and cash for the national trophy UFOLEP.
