Jacques Bordeneuve
Jacques Bordeneuve is a French politician, born the August 28th 1908 Sainte Livrade on Lot (Lot-et-Garonne), deceased the January 3rd 1981 with Neuilly-sur-Seine.
Biography
He is lawyer at the Court of Appeal of Agen since 1937. He engages in the Résistance. Radical socialist, he is member of the Conseil of the Republic then Sénat (group of the democratic Gauche and RGR) of 1946 on 1967, date to which he is elected for one year appointed Fédération of the democratic and socialist left. He turns over to the Senate in 1974 and sits there until his death. He is vice-president of the commission of the cultural affairs.He was president of the General advice of Lot-et-Garonne.
Governmental functions
Its interest for the questions of education leads it to intervene with many recoveries with the Senate on these topics and is worth to him to be called with the government:- Secretary of State to Arts and the Letters of the Government Guy Mollet (from February 1st, 1956 to June 13rd, 1957)
- Secretary of State to Arts and the Letters of the Government Maurice Bourges-Maunoury (from June 17th to November 6th, 1957)
- Minister for State education of the Government Pierre Pflimlin (of the May 14th at June 1st 1958)
Its government action tends to the safeguard of the inheritance (in particular the Castle of Versailles) and to the construction of an University residence of arts in Paris. It creates the National order of arts and the letters.
