Jacques Berthelet
Jacques Berthelet (born the October 24th 1934) is the bishop of the Diocèse of Saint-Jean-Longueuil.
Born with Montreal, it supplemented its secondary studies with the Saint-Viateur College of Outremont, with the Theological college Saint-Charles of Joliette and with the Université of Freiburg in Suisse, where it obtains a license in Théologie. The 1957, he becomes brother at the Clercs of Saint-Viateur. It is ordered priest in this congregation the June 16th 1962. The December 19th 1986, Jean-Paul II names it auxiliary bishop diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil like titular bishop of Lamsorti, after he had taught theology with the Université of Montreal and had been named higher of his congregation. The December 27th 1996, it succeeds Monseigneur Bernard Hubert, which was its consecrator.
In 2001, Mgr. Berthelet became the president of the Conférence of the catholic bishops of Canada for a two years mandate. He made a speech at the beginning of JMJ of Toronto in 2002.
